How do I take care of my jewelry?

Most of the pieces I make are very delicate and should be handled with care. Swimming, showering or sleeping in your jewelry is not recommended. Please don’t spray perfume on, swim in chlorine with, or apply lotion on top of the jewelry. The perfumes and chemicals can damage or accelerate tarnish on the metal or stones. Some of the items contain gems that can be damaged or scratched if you are doing rough activities, therefore I recommend you take the piece off before.

Note: Sterling silver jewelry has a natural tendency to tarnish. This can be fixed simply by rubbing the metal with the polishing cloth included with the purchase of each silver piece. To try to prevent tarnishing, you can store the jewelry in an airtight container.

SIZING/RESIZING

How do I know my ring size?

If you don’t already know your ring size, you can easily purchase a ring sizer online, or I recommend you go to your local jeweler and get your ring size checked there. It is usually free and pretty quick.

Because some of the items on this site are one of a kind or made to order, I cannot accept exchanges on those items, therefore I recommend you make sure the size is right before you make your purchase.

I am buying this ring as a gift, how do I know what size to get?  Before you purchase the ring, I recommend that you try to find a ring that you know fits the person you are buying it for and bring it to a local jeweler to get the size checked. 

MATERIALS

What materials do you make your jewelry out of?

All jewelry is made of 14k Gold (rose or yellow) or Sterling Silver. Upon request, some items can be made from 18k gold or platinum for an adjusted price. Please contact info@avarogersjewelry.com for any additional information.

CUSTOM

Do you make custom pieces upon request?

At the moment, I am not taking any custom projects but I am able to make small changes to any of the items listed in the currently available collections. If there are any changes you would like made to a piece, prior to placing your order, (material, size, etc) please send an email to info@avarogersjewelry.com describing your requests in detail.

If I have an old piece of jewelry can I send it to you to melt and reuse the materials?

Unfortunately, I do not take old jewelry to reuse and recycle for custom pieces at this time.
